The last weeks I dealt with the General Data Protection Regulation GDPR. To obey these rules some actions needs to be done. Just updating the Privacy Policy text isn’t enough. For your info the following steps are done to keep the maximum on privacy
- Google Fonts and WordPress Emojis switched off using the Autoptimize Plugin
- Google Analytics switched off – no more tracking by Google!
- Gravatar switched off using Disable User Gravatar Plugin instead using WP First Letter Avatar Plugin showing first letter of the username
- Checkbox for accept storing data before commenting using WP GDPR Compliance Plugin
- Cookies Acceptance mit dem Cookie Notice from dFacotry Plugin
- After the changes Privacy Policy is updated using the activeMind AG generator
Testing
- Chrome DevTools are showing you the access to external services. There are no calls to external services except the embedded Youtube Video from the Homepage.
- The check of Impressum Information and Privacy Policy is only available in german at Wilde Beuger Solmecke Attorneys Abmahncheck
The personal data you need for regsitration is already reduced to a minimum. Username can be chosen without using your real name. Only EMail address has to belong to you which is verified with double opt-in. So only the minimal amount of data is stored in order to use this service!
